Food over Fire by Pip Sumbak
We are thrilled to launch our new weekend lunch experience, ‘Food over Fire’ led by our new head chef Pip Sumbak, held at our Cellar Door ‘The Cellar by Gilbert.
‘ Food over Fire’ will take place every Saturday and Sunday as of 13 & 14 May. The lunch will be set around a large, communal farmhouse-style table and will bring visitors and locals closer to the Mudgee region’s producers as they indulge in a true ‘farm to table’ experience.
Each dish at ‘ Food over Fire’ focuses on seasonal produce sourced locally from the Mudgee Region and cooked over an open fire to showcase the very
best of each ingredient.
Upon arrival, guests will be presented with a curated list of Gilbert Family Wines handpicked by sixth generation winemaker Will Gilbert. Each wine picked will perfectly compliment every dish on offer.
Following the shared main course, lunch will conclude with one of Pip’s signature shared sweet treats and a selection of High Valley Cheeses made on- site at
The Cellar by Gilbert.
Seating will commence at 1pm Saturday and Sunday with only twenty spots
available each day.
