'A zero-dosage expression of febrile mineral energy. Partially fermented in neutral wood before an impressive 50 months on lees, this is aperitif material par excellence. Subtle is the echo of the red grapes: strawberry and redcurrant. Bright is chardonnay’s pungent acid mettle. Long and steely is the finish, verging on a masochistic austerity. A subtle whiff of toast. Wine to whet the palate and prime the hunger. Homage to Champagne’s growers. Very good.'
