Red Cherry. Spice. Elegant. Plush
Awards and Reviews:
"A more earthbound and reserved bouquet than the white label pinot. Mineral, spicy. Some vanilla and chocolate nuances. Good, but doesn’t sing like the other two 2018 Gilbert pinots. (From Mayfield and Borrodell vineyards. All 777 clone, 25% whole bunches)" - 93 Points - Huon Hooke, The Real Review 2019
"Well, 777 would be the clone I assume, that of the smaller bunches and berries. This has 25% whole bunch and only uses old French oak. Fun fact: Did you know Vince Vaughn played Norman Bates in the 1998 remake of Psycho? Red cherry and raspberry, a fair bit of spice, maybe some aniseed and subtle earthiness. It’s bright and direct, a little rasp of tannin, pretty but with a quiet earth bass to counter the fresh red fruit. Alcohol intrudes just a little and thins it out, but that’s really a minor aside. Good." - 92 Points - Gary Walsh, The Real Review 2020
